Early Life and Career

Duván Esteban Zapata Banguera was born on April 1, 1991, in Cali, Colombia. He began his football journey with América de Cali, making his professional debut in 2008. In 2011, he moved to Argentina to play for Estudiantes before returning to Colombia to join Millonarios.

European Adventure

In 2013, Zapata crossed the Atlantic to join Italian club Napoli. He spent two seasons there before moving on loan to Udinese. In 2016, he joined Sampdoria, where he scored 23 goals in 57 appearances.

Atalanta Success

In 2018, Zapata joined Atalanta on loan and quickly became a crucial player for the Bergamo-based club. He scored 28 goals in 38 Serie A appearances during the 2020-21 season, helping Atalanta qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

International Career

Zapata has been a regular member of the Colombian national team since 2014. He has represented his country in various tournaments, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
